This one was totally not on my radar, which is a shame because itβs quite good. Exploring the dark American history of Nazi domestic terrorism is a fascinating exercise, as weβre still seeing the ideological ripple effects today.
But what makes The Order effective cinematically is its ultra-tense tone and stunning cinematography, ominously juxtaposing beautiful western landscapes with the evil deeds of its characters. Itβs very reminiscent of Sicario in both regards. Jude Law also rocks as a disgruntled β80s FBI agent with a killer mustache.
Thereβs contrived aspects to the procedural narrative that weβve seen many times before. In the end, The Order is an intense and compelling crime thriller.
